The reconstruction of the street space with historical four-row avenue planting as well as the historical design of the materiality of the pavements and street surfaces including Johannisplatz in front of the Grassi Museum was decided by a competitive procedure.
The street space was strengthened in its realisation by a four-row linden avenue. A linearly oriented natural stone paving with paving bands and central slabs was realised. The triangular shape of the square is seen as a hybrid with paved areas with generous lawn joints, multifunctionally usable in the context of the museum.
